"Decent hotel, great location"

Reviewed May 18th, 2013 by Amy P
We had a king room here last weekend for our bimonthly Disney trip. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. We asked for a room in a quieter section, and they gave us a corner room next to an exit, which was perfect. There is a $10/night "resort fee", but most hotels in the area charge that so it wasn't a problem. The rooms smell like chlorine bleach, which to me means they're clean. The bathroom was large, the bed was comfortable, there were lots of pillows, and the room was very clean. It was also very quiet. I was very excited to see a central air thermostat instead of a mold filled external AC unit. There were very few negatives... the room smelled slightly of stale smoke - it had obviously once been a smoking room. Not a crisis. The tv is small and older, but we weren't there to watch tv so again, not a crisis. Also, there are 2 sets of stairs at the back of the building and one entrance in the front. And there's only one bank of elevators and they are in the front near the pool. If you need the elevator and are staying in the back of the hotel, it's quite a hike to your room. But this place is less than 5 miles from WDW, right on 192 in Kissimmee. It took us less than 10 minutes to get to the parks, and there's a traffic light at the entrance, which makes for very easy access. Bottom line, we had a pleasant stay and are likely to stay here again, especially since we spent around $150 on it for 3 nights including the resort fee.

"Family Mini Disney Vacation"

Reviewed May 16th, 2013 by Lynn M
I booked 2 family suites and a single room with King bed. There were 8 adults and 6 children ranging in age from 1.5 to 60. We were all well accommodated. The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were clean. The other really good thing I noticed was the sound proofing of the rooms. I have stayed in some pretty swanky hotels with paper thin walls. :( I would take the dated decor and good night sleep over thin walls any day of the week. The pools were well kept. The price was unbeatable for the accommodations. I did not know what to expect after reading some of the reviews before booking, but I decided to go with this hotel based on a friend of a friend's satisfaction. I am glad I did. Was it perfect, no. The hotel is dated, but that didn't matter to us. We all enjoyed our stay.
The cons of this hotel to me are: dining is adequate and the indoor pool area could use a little better ventilation (tho it did not stop us from enjoying it or the jacuzzi at all). Hey, I can live with that and I'll definitely book here again.
