"All available staff rallied round"

Reviewed March 28th, 2014 by Ke S
Although a few years ago, my family stayed for two weeks in the Ramada, we choose this hotel because of its close proximity to Disney, and not far from the Ponderosa Steakhouse, where we did the majority of our eating.
We did however encounter a hurricane, when all parks, shopping malls closed down and locals were evacuated from the coastal areas.
We followed the management advice, which was presented via a mail drop through. Our room door.
Meal time was take it or leave it, and was prepared by what staff the management could muster. It was not cordon blu, but none the less edible.
Returning to our hotel room, we thanked the evacuated locals to attend their hurricane parties.
It was an exceptional effort by the management, and would certainly stay here again should we return.

"Valentines Birthday Vacation"

Reviewed March 23rd, 2014 by MichelleT6
I was a little skeptical of the property at first when I booked online, trying to find a value when every other property I was looking at was well over $90-$100 a night, but what sold me was the indoor pool, and it turned out to be very nice. Also I liked the whirlpool. I was somewhat disappointed in the clerk at check in after I had been driving all day was very exhausted and hungry, got in at about 8:30 pm, and the guy was very short and rude. Then the room overall was nice, however the bathroom could have used much work in replacing the mirror and the shower curtain was too thin, water wet floor.and the floor did not look clean to begin with.

ESPN Wide World of Sports
Hotel Accommodations

There are so many hotels in Orlando, it's hard to know which ones are closest to the things you want to see and do. If your family is full of sports fans, you'll be glad to learn that our hotel is near the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. At about five miles away, you can plan to catch several amateur and professional sporting events and have plenty of time to meet back at your hotel room for a post-game huddle before heading out for more Orlando entertainment. Expect to spend $10 for kids to get in and $14.50 for adults, while some games and venues charge additional ticketing fees.

Nine Venues Add Up to Plenty of Sports Action

If you're at Champion Stadium at the right time of year, you can see the Atlanta Braves at Spring training or the Gulf Coast Braves in the regular season. Either way, the 9,500-seat baseball facility offers a great way to see America's favorite game. Newly opened in 2011 is the HP Field House, where you can catch exciting events such as gymnastics invitationals, basketball tournaments and even robotics competitions.

The Jostens Center is the place to be for pulse-racing events like volleyball, roller hockey, and  and basketball. It also has an adjacent restaurant, so make a day of it! For outdoor sports action, Hess Sports Fields is well-equipped. With fields set up for day or night play, these eight multi-purpose fields are ready for just about anything, from international soccer to football.

Additional venues you'll find here include the Baseball Quadplex, with four professional baseball fields, the Softball Diamondplex consisting of six fields, the Centre Court Stadium for tennis and the Cross Country Course for track and field events. There is also the Track and Field Complex that is designed according to the standards of the International Association of Athletics Federations.
